26th March Blog

It is a short while since I last ‘blogged’ but things have been moving at a pace in the Academy.

It has been strange overseeing the appointments of Mr Lowry to the Principal’s role, and Mrs Crowther-Green to the Vice Principal’s role whilst I am still here in post.  I am sure that they are going to take the Academy forward, as we move along our journey from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’.

Speaking of outstanding, it was a pleasure to have Steven Nzonzi, Stoke’s outstanding midfield player, in the Academy this week. He met our Year 10 French students, and was interviewed by them in French. Throughout his visit he talked enthusiastically with the students, and posed for many photographs with them. The visit was organised through our links with the Co-operative group, who continue to sponsor the club and the Academy.

Congratulations go out to our Year 11 students today as virtually all of them have come into the Academy for a special revision day, showing their desire to be successful in the coming summer examinations.

Rehearsals are well under way for our presentation of ‘Annie’ and I look forward to attending this in the last week of the term; tickets are available through the Academy.

We are starting to organise our summer activities for the students, so make sure that your son / daughter keeps you up to date with what is going on.
