Parent Governor Election

Do You Want To Become A Parent Governor?

The Co-operative Academy is seeking candidates from parents to stand for election onto the Governing Body of the academy. The term of office is 3 years.

At the Co-operative Academy of Stoke-on-Trent we believe that good governance is vital to the success of the academy. Our Governing Body needs to have the skills and knowledge to champion success within the academy. It is essential that our Governing Body ensures that the academy livies it's values of Fairness, Ambition and Respect.

A vacancy has arisen which means we are now seeking one parent who wants to play a part in the governance of our academy and who believes they can champion the values.

Noination and Election Process

Parents or members of the community are asked to nominate themselves using the Parents Candidates Form (see below). All nomination forms need to be completed and submitted to Mr Lowry by 3.00pm on Friday 21st October at the academy.

If we get more than two parents putting themselves forward to be on the governing body, we will use the information you have submitted on your form to create a candidates booklet, which will be sent out to all parents. Parents will be able to vote on which parent they would like to represent them. The closing date for voting will be 12 noon, Wednesday 16th November.

The results of the election will be announced on Friday 18th November. The results will also be published in the academy newsletter.
