Mamady Sidibe teaches French

Stoke City striker Mamady Sidibe came down to the Academy to work with GCSE French Students. The Mali born front man was interviewed by the pupils, in French, and then went around helping them with the project work they were working on.

Mamady said of the new Academy "When I first came in today, I thought it was a University because it was so big... it's really amazing here" he continued "Languages are important because when I first came to England it was hard for me, as I spoke no English... maybe if I had concentrated more at school I wouldn't have found it so hard."

The lesson, which took place in our new Lecture Theatre, was all about how to ask questions in French and how to translate those questions into answers. The pupils were suprised to see Mama turn up and begin working with them.

This was just one of many events that the school has working in conjunction with the community and our main sponsor The Co-operative Group who own Britannia, stadium sponsors of Stoke City.
