Donation to Peter Pan Nursery
Co-operative Academy students went along to visit the Peter Pan Nursery in Newcastle-under-Lyme to hand deliver another donation from the staff and students of the Academy.
The Peter Pan Nursery for Children with Special Needs provides professional support and care to children from birth to five years old who have a wide range of disabilities, conditions and syndromes, such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Visual and Hearing Impairments, Physical delays and Speech and Language delays.
The Nursery also provides valuable help and support to all parents and carers of children with special needs from Stoke on Trent, Newcastle under Lyme, Cheshire and surrounding areas. The Nursery is unique within Staffordshire and South Cheshire and there is currently a growing waiting list, which is not able to be reduced without substantial donations which form a key part of their funding.
The Academy has donated over £1000 since the Venture community group linked up with the Charity. The top three merit earners for Venture were taken to the nursery as a reward.
Mrs Hewitt, the Community Leader for Venture, said "It's been another fantastic visit and students got the opportunity to see how fantastic the nurseries facilities are and just how special the children and staff are. It is also important for the students to see where all that money they raise is being spent."
