Cambridge University Visit
On Friday 26th April, 11 students from the Cooperative Academy (along with Miss Harrison, Mrs Fenney and Mr Burgess-Pearson) visited Cambridge University.
After a short tour around the city centre and several of the university departments, the students enjoyed lunch at Robinson College, joined by eight current Cambridge students from a range of subjects including Maths, Engineering, Law and Medicine. Academy students asked lots of questions about the application and interview process and about life at Cambridge.
After lunch, the students enjoyed tours of Trinity and Pembroke colleges before having free time. The students ended their day in the Engineering Department where they saw 'behind the scenes' experiments with liquid nitrogen and levitating magnets. The students then participated in a 'Pupil Panel', answering the questions of Teach First offerees about what they felt made a good teacher.
