Festive Fun

The Co-operative Young Leaders took on their most important task of 2013 when they were all asked to become "C.Y.ELVES" and help Father Christmas bring Christmas cheer and deliver presents to our partner primary school pupils. The Leaders were amazing, the afternoon consisted of all John Baskeyfield Year 3 pupils and all St Marys CE Year 2 pupils attending a Christmas afternoon of fun, there were 112 pupils in total.

The leaders surpassed expectations, they started the afternoon with a sports Festival led and delivered by the Sports leaders, the festival had 12 stations all Christmas themed; The Christmas Tree Shuffle, Santa’s Sack & the Rocket Sleigh. The pupils then moved in to the Activity studio where they were entertained with singing and dancing from the "C.Y.ELVES".

Finally, Father Christmas then addressed all the children and was helped by the "C.Y.ELVES"  to hand out presents to all the primary children. The primary children also enjoyed a Christmas party with snacks and drinks.  It was such a success that we expect that Father Christmas will want to return next year!!!  The photos show the Leaders in action.

Mr White, Assistant Vice-Principal, said "It was great fun. Building close links with the community is an important part of our school's focus."
