We are pleased to announce that following an extensive application and interview process held yesterday 6th February, that Mr Nick Lowry has accepted the post as the new Principal at The Co-operative Academy of Stoke-on-Trent, which will take effect from the 1st September 2014.
Mr Lowry has worked within the Senior Leadership Team as Vice Principal at the Academy since it was created, with responsibility primarily for Achievement, Teaching and Learning and has been instrumental in the significant progress that the Academy has made in overall terms in this period.
In the coming months and following today’s announcement there will be a handover period with all of the stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition as our current Principal, Mr Stanier approaches his retirement date on the 31st August.
Now we have been able to complete the appointment of our new Principal the Senior Leadership Team will refocus their energy on ensuring that the Academy will achieve a very positive outcome with results in August, in line with our, three year strategic plan.
We do believe that it is very good news that we have been able to appoint Mr Stanier’s successor from within the Academy, which sends a positive message about the quality of our staff, the opportunities that the Academy is able to offer and the valued teaching and learning we are able to provide to all of our students.
We will keep you informed as appropriate of the progress being made towards Mr Lowry taking up his post officially from the 1st September.
