Year 10 Ethics Conference

On Wednesday 5th February, a group of 28 Year 10 students from Miss Harrison's RE GCSE class visited Keele University as part of an Ethics Conference for Gifted and Talented students. Along with Mrs Johnson and Miss Harrison, the students participated in a number of sessions on exciting topics such as 'The Ethics of Killing', 'Animal Rights', 'Medical Ethics' and a talk on Nelson Mandela and the use of violence to gain civil rights.

The sessions were delivered in the style of a lecture or seminar by experts in their field, giving students a real taste of university life. Not only were the topics highly relevant to the GCSE RE syllabus but it showed students the opportunities that studying RE can lead to. Overall, the students had a fantastic day and staff at Keele praised them for their interesting contributions and enthusiasm during the day.
