As another term comes to an end I am pleased to share with you two letters that I have recently received which celebrate the success of the Academy.
Firstly the Academy is now designated as a ‘Leading edge’ academy.
The excellent progress that students make at the Co-operative Academy of Stoke-on-Trent has been recognised by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, as the school has now been designated a ‘Leading Edge’ school.
On April 4th I received the following recognition from the Specialist Schools and Academies trust
Co-Operative Academy of Stoke-on-Trent one of the best in the country for student progress at GCSE.
Co-Operative Academy of Stoke-on-Trent has received national recognition for the value it adds to students’ achievements at GCSE.
A recent in-depth analysis of official Department for Education data on all state-funded schools in England by SSAT, the national schools’ membership organisation for improvement and collaboration, identified Co-Operative Academy of Stoke-on-Trent’s success.
At a time when the education provided for pupils and students in schools and academies in Stoke-on-Trent seems to be questioned it is pleasing to report this success. Credit must go to all involved with the Academy, and also the Co-operative group for its continued support and guidance.
The summer term will be my last term at the Academy, as you are now aware I will be retiring from my role as Principal in August. Mr Lowry will be taking on the role of principal from September, and I will be working with him to ensure a smooth change-over. I know that it is going to be a strange term for me, but equally I anticipate a rewarding end to my time here.
I hope that you all have a relaxing Easter and that the students come back refreshed on April 28th ready for Summer term.
