Thirty-eight students from Year 7 to 11 and six staff were involved in this years Academy Production of Annie. Taylor Higginbotham, of Year 7, took the leading role of Annie in what audience members described as "The best show the Academy has ever put on." Hundreds of parents and members of the community came to see the show.
Mrs Leighton, who directed the show, said "It was extremely hard work, not just for staff, but for the students as well. The amount of lines the main characters learnt was phenomenal and a great achievement for them. The students all showed a huge amount of professionalism as performers, they never missed a rehearsal, were supportive of each other and our critique in rehearsal just made them want to improve more, which is amazing."
Students rehearsed the show from January, which included the smash-hit songs The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow and It's A Hard Knock Life and culminated in three-nights of evening performances.
