Big Music Week
More than 100 youngsters took part in the fifth annual Big Music Week at the Co-operative Academy.
The event included pupils from seven primary schools across the city.
Teachers from the Academy have been visiting the schools since January to help students work on a variety of performance styles – from African drumming to an iPad band.
Mark White, assistant vice principal, said: "The project is helpful with the transition from primary to secondary school but it is also a fun way of getting them engaged with music, teamwork and building confidence."
"The children performed in front of their peers in the afternoon and their parents at night."
