Charity Fun Day 14th November
Three of our Y11 students have certainly embodied the co-operative ethos recently, by organising a Fun Day to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Lucy Hatton, Georgia Emery and Ellie Lewis were inspired to become involved in fundraising for the charity, due to the recent diagnosis of their much loved and respected English teacher, Miss Thompson.
Determined to take action, the girls immediately set about organising the event on Saturday 14th November at Goldenhill Community Centre, which will run from 12-3pm. They have organised a vast range of activities including a fantastic raffle where you can win a signed Port Vale or Stoke City FC shirt, family passes to Waterworld and Dimensions, Odeon Cinema tickets, Ten Pin Bowling games, McDonalds vouchers, Just Kidding play sessions and much, much more! If that doesn’t tempt you to join us, then perhaps the opportunity to throw a wet sponge at Miss Cunningham, in the stocks, will!
It is down to sheer hard work and determination that the girls are able to offer such great prizes. They have spent weekends approaching local businesses, asking for donations to support this worthy cause. Many thanks to all who have contributed.
So, please join our academy community, this Saturday 14th November 12-3pm at Goldenhill Community Centre to raise money for Cancer Research UK – an event organised by our amazing Y11 students – Lucy Hatton, Georgia Emery and Ellie Lewis. Help us raise as much money as possible, to beat cancer sooner.
