It's Silver in Cycling with Sustrans

The Co-operative Academy of Stoke on Trent have most recently added to their sustainable journey by being awarded their Silver School Mark.  This is a fantastic achievement and serves to highlight the level of commitment by the school to developing their sustainable travel attitude.  Silver is awarded to a school that continues to demonstrate its commitment to promoting active and sustainable travel, but with much of the energy and resources coming from within the school and its community.

Liz Garrity PE Teacher at Coop Academy said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to win the Sustrans Silver School Mark Award. The children are definitely benefitting from this healthier lifestyle. They are also learning so much about the importance of keeping safe on the roads.

A huge thank you must go to school staff and Sustrans 'Bike It' Officer Andy Barratt for his support over the last two years and of course to the real stars, the children. I would encourage all schools to take up the challenge”
