Next week we will be embarking upon our annual 'Charity Week' - one of the most popular and successful events in the academic year. Led by our Community Leaders, and with the help of students, a host of activities and events will be taking place to raise money for three of our charities.
Starting on Monday 13th students and staff will be busy during break and lunch as the favourite 'Giant Sweet Cones' make a return, as well as lucky dips; a cake bake; a giant Easter egg raffle and an Easter egg tombola.
The three charities we are supporting this year are the Peter Pan Nursery; Macmillan Cancer Support and Just A Drop - charities that are close to the heart of everyone at the academy. All money raised between the 13th and17th will be split between these three charities.
During the week after (20th till the 23rd) will see the academy come together for another worthy cause as we raise money for Comic Relief. Events include a talent show; cupcake madness and a 'Sponsor Day' - some of our students will play their part as they take part in sponsored silences, dressing in drag for the day and refraining from using their mobile phones for 24 hours.
On Friday 24th a lucky male member of staff will have their legs shaved in 'Wax Attack' whilst it will be a non-uniform day for students. All money from this day will go towards our year 11 prom.
All in all, it will be a fantastic two weeks here at the academy with another great show of solidarity and caring for others by all included.
