Key Stage 4 Teaching Groups

Key stage 4

Students are able to choose from a wide range of academic and vocational courses resulting in qualifications at GCSE, BTEC and Vocational Certificate level. The courses are designed to develop the skills that you need to have in today’s competitive world. You will be expected to achieve a minimum of five GCSE’s at grades A*-C (9-4 new GCSE's) including English and Maths or equivalent (e.g. BTEC qualifications), by the end of Year 11 and reach your targeted levels of progress.

The academy provides extra opportunities for KS4 students to study and revise in their chosen subjects. There are additional lessons before and after school and also, KS4 Edge time is timetabled fortnightly in both core and option subjects.

During Year 10 you will have the opportunity to participate in both college and work experience days.  These activities help to prepare students for their Post 16 education, whether that is at a college of Further Education, a work based provider or an apprenticeship.

Every student will be expected to work to the best of their ability at all times and our staff will encourage you to have high aspirations for the future.
