Tolerance of Those With Different Faiths And Beliefs

At the Academy we strongly believe that tolerance is gained through knowledge and understanding. Through our curriculum and the routines of our daily school life, we strive to demonstrate tolerance and help children to become knowledgeable and understanding citizens who can build a better Britain for the future. Additionally, students are actively encouraged to share their faith and beliefs within the school. Our Religious Studies curriculum provides a broad and balanced education on a range of faiths, religions and cultures. At the Academy we will actively challenge pupils, staff or parents expressing opinions contrary to fundamental British Values, including ‘extremist’ views.

"A culture of tolerance, respect and inclusion permeates the life of the academy. Academy leaders, including governors, actively promote democratic values. The academy’s range of subjects, for example religious education and personal, social and health education, and assembly programme ensure that students are taught how to challenge racism, homophobia and other forms of prejudice." - Ofsted Section 8 January 2015
